Cumwo, also written Cum Wo, was a Hong Kong silversmith and retailer on Queen's Road, active in the second half of the 19th century. If your piece is stamped CW, often with Chinese character marks for the workshop or artisan, it may be Cumwo work. You will see the mark on tea sets, bowls, vases, salvers and presentation cups, many with dense relief decoration of dragons, figures or flowers made for Western residents and visitors.
