Description

Fairfax is a clean, restrained pattern that Durgin introduced in 1910, with shaped lines drawn from Sheraton style and very little ornament. For some years it was the best-selling sterling flatware pattern in the United States, so you will see a lot of it in estates. Gorham absorbed Durgin and kept Fairfax in production, which is why Replacements now lists it under Gorham. Earlier pieces carry Durgin's D and later ones carry Gorham marks, and mixed sets are common.
