Sell your jewelry with confidence.

Bring your gold, diamonds, estate and designer pieces to our gallery in Edina. We examine everything with you, explain the offer, and pay by check the same day. If a piece would do better at auction, we will tell you that too.

Not everything should be melted

With gold where it is, a plain chain or a worn band is often worth more as metal today than it would ever bring in a sale. That is true, and we will say so. But some jewelry is worth far more than its gold. Signed pieces, period jewelry, better stones. Those belong in front of bidders, and we can put them there. We look at every piece both ways and tell you which number is higher.

Not sure what you have?

A maker's mark tells you most of what you need to know. Our jewelry marks database covers 42 makers and their hallmarks, and you are welcome to look before you call. For a formal written valuation, see our appraisal services.

Before you come in

Please do not polish or clean anything. Original surfaces matter on period pieces. Leave stones in their mounts, we value them in place. And bring any boxes, papers, receipts or old appraisals you have. They often add to the value.

How it works

Calling is faster, and we can usually book you a time on the spot. If you would rather start with photos, use the form on this page and we will reply within one business day. See also the Sell Outright overview, selling coins and selling sterling silver.

Frequently Asked

What jewelry do you buy?

Gold in any karat, platinum, diamonds, coloured stones, signed designer pieces, period jewelry and watches. We also take broken chains, single earrings, class rings and dental gold. If you are not sure whether we buy it, call and describe it.

How do you value gold?

Weight, purity and the spot price that day. Purity is fixed by the karat mark. 10K is 41.7 percent gold, 14K is 58.3 percent, 18K is 75 percent and 22K is 91.7 percent. Platinum is usually 95 percent and sterling silver is 92.5 percent. That sets the floor. Maker, period, design and stone quality are what lift a piece above it.

Do you buy broken or damaged jewelry?

Yes. Broken chains, bent rings, single earrings and pieces missing stones are bought by weight and purity. Damage does not change the metal, so a broken chain is worth the same per gram as an intact one.

Will you tell me if a piece is worth more at auction?

Yes, and we do it often. Signed pieces, period jewelry and better stones frequently bring more from competing bidders than any single buyer will pay. We run our own sales, so that recommendation costs us nothing.

How are diamonds valued?

Cut, colour, clarity and carat weight, and whether the stone comes with a grading report. Small stones in commercial grades carry modest value. Stones around a carat and up in good grades are where the money is, and those are usually better at auction.
