Description
Gundorph Albertus designed Cactus for Georg Jensen in 1930. Albertus trained as a chaser, and the pattern shows it in the fine, crisp detail of a stylized cactus near the top of each handle. The overall shape is clean and simple, mixing Art Deco ornament with early functionalist lines. Georg Jensen still offers Cactus in sterling. Postwar pieces carry the incuse dotted oval with STERLING DENMARK, and earlier pieces show the square mark of 1933 to 1944 or older marks.
