Description

Francis I is the Reed & Barton pattern most sellers bring in. Every handle carries a raised cluster of fruit and flowers, and the set uses 15 different clusters, so a knife, fork and spoon rarely match each other. The design is credited to the silversmith Ernest Meyer, and Reed & Barton patented it in 1907 and kept it in production until 2019. Pieces made before about 1950 carry the eagle, R and lion mark, and later ones read Reed & Barton. Dealers price the two marks separately.
